K&M Cares - Relay For Life
K&M was excited to support several of our locations this year in their Relay For Life Events!
Our Lisbon Falls, ME; Merrimack, NH; and Albany, NY locations formed a team! Their Relay Event took place in Nashua, NH on Saturday, June 23rd. This team was formed to walk in memory of Mark Joyce, a K&M Route Driver from our Merrimack, NH location, who passed away earlier this year after battling cancer for 6 months.
The day of the Relay was full of cold and rain, but the group was happy to report that they had a great time at the event! The total raised at their first ever Relay Event was $1,811.68 including a match from K&M!
The Delphos, OH location also participated in the Delphos Relay for Life Event held at the Stadium Park on Friday, June 15th. The team raised a total of $5,313.99 including a match from K&M! It was a hot one, but they were very excited to see everyone who came out to support their booth and team! Lemon shake-ups and chicken quesadillas were sold at the event.
Together, the teams raised a total of $7,125.67 to support the American Cancer Society! We hope one day the money raised for cancer research will enable them to find a cure. Thank you to all the volunteers and team captains who helped organize the fund-raising events and to everyone who supported the cause with your donations!

K&M Cares - Superhero 5K
On May 19th, K&M Cares held their 3rd annual Superhero 5k! We had 70 participants come out to enjoy the race. K&M Cares was able to raise over $600 from this event and the proceeds were donated to the Relay for Life.
We had many participants dressed in costumes, from a family dressed as their favorite superheroes to a very inspiring fire fighter in full gear.
We would like to extend a big “Thank You!” to all of our volunteers as well as our sponsors, Niece Trucking and Hometown Design.
We look forward to seeing you all next year and helping us join in the fight against cancer!

K&M Cares - Relay For Life
Friday, June 15th - K&M Cares will be participating in the annual Relay for Life event held at Stadium Park in Delphos. We would love to see everyone stop out and support our community in any way you can!
The evening will begin at 6:00pm with the opening ceremony. Following the ceremony, survivors and caregivers will be invited
to kick off the event by walking the first lap! Surrounding the walking path, teams will have booths set up with different activities and items available. K&M Cares will have a booth selling chicken quesadillas and lemon shake-ups!
A few fundraisers are being put on by the Relay
for Life committee. They consist of:
Cow Patty Bingo: Ticket cost $20.00 – 1st prize $1,000
Cancun Vacation: $10.00 per ticket or 3 for $25.00.
The Trip includes a five Day, four Night stay for two Adults (25 & older) and two children (12 & up).

K&M Cares - Ohio Wears Blue
On April 11th, K&M participated in the #OhioWearsBlue day. “Wear Blue” is a state-wide campaign that takes place every April, which is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Everyone in the state of Ohio is encouraged to wear blue on the designated date to show support and raise awareness about preventing child abuse and neglect. We had many employees in the corporate office partake in this event. We appreciate all of the participation we continue to see from everyone! Thank you for your support!

K&M Cares - 2017 In Review
Due to the generous donations of K&M Tire employees, K&M Cares was able to offer assistance directly to dozens of families and organizations throughout all of the K&M communities. These organizations include food banks, church outreach programs, back-to-school supply drives, and meal programs for local school students on free or reduced lunch programs.
Our most recent involvement was through the Delphos Community Christmas Project. Each year, the event organizers provide participants with a list of specific items families in our community do not have enough of. Participants will purchase and donate those items so they can be provided to families in need. This year, K&M Cares put on a “challenge” within K&M Tire. Our employees donated a total of 278 rolls of paper towels, 289 boxes of tissues and 662 rolls of toilet paper!! With the amazing response in donations last year, the Delphos Community Christmas Project will be able to provide toothbrushes, toothpaste and shampoo again this year as well!
Everything that K&M Cares is able to do is because of the employees within K&M Tire. We THANK YOU for your donations and support through 2017, and we are excited to see what the future holds!
